With all the uncertainty around Halloween this year and with people staying home. I wanted to write some kids recipes. To be able to keep the fun going. Even at home. When my kids where little they liked candy apples and strange drinks. I hope you and your children enjoy. As always have fun!

Candy Apple Ghosts
You Will Need
small apples
Candi Quik or any sort of white chocolate to melt
Black gel icing
Other Supplies
cake pop sticks
wax paper
microwave bowl
spoon
Directions
prepare the counter with wax paper
remove the stems from two apples
push the cake pop sticks into the center of the apples
place 1/2 package of Candi Quik into a microwave safe bowl (breaking up the pieces)

Poison Apples
apples
twigs or skewers
sugar
corn syrup
gel food coloring
water
wax paper
Instructions
Wash apples in warm water with a cloth and dry thoroughly
Remove the stems and insert sticks or twigs or skewers
In a saucepan add sugar, water, and blue food coloring
Mix ingredients well, until sugar dissolves. Secure a candy thermometer to the pan and bring to a boil over medium heat.
Do not stir past this point
Meanwhile place the parchment paper on a baking sheet and grease with a little bit of vegetable oil
After 15 minutes the caramel will be done. The temperature must reach 3000 degrees (hard crack). If you don't have a candy thermometer, drizzle some of it from a fork-if it hardens as it falls or forming strands, it's done.
Turn the heat off and dip the apples, one by one,in the caramel. Tilt Pan and move apple till it's coated
Let excess caramel fall off, hold the apples upside down for several seconds to avoid excess caramel on the bottom Be careful caramel will be hot.
Place apples on prepared paper to coll.
If coating is too thin, dip apples once more and let cool again.
Start with a dark blue and then add some black food coloring to the caramel.
