Halloween Recipes Candy Apples and Drinks




With all the uncertainty around Halloween this year and with people staying home. I wanted to write some kids recipes. To be able to keep the fun going. Even at home. When my kids where little they liked candy apples and strange drinks. I hope you and your children enjoy. As always have fun!




Candy Apple Ghosts


You Will Need

  1. small apples

  2. Candi Quik or any sort of white chocolate to melt

  3. Black gel icing

Other Supplies

  1. cake pop sticks

  2. wax paper

  3. microwave bowl

  4. spoon

Directions

  1. prepare the counter with wax paper

  2. remove the stems from two apples

  3. push the cake pop sticks into the center of the apples

  4. place 1/2 package of Candi Quik into a microwave safe bowl (breaking up the pieces)



Poison Apples


  1. apples

  2. twigs or skewers

  3. sugar

  4. corn syrup

  5. gel food coloring

  6. water

  7. wax paper

Instructions

  1. Wash apples in warm water with a cloth and dry thoroughly

  2. Remove the stems and insert sticks or twigs or skewers

  3. In a saucepan add sugar,water,and blue food coloring

  4. Mix ingredients well, until sugar dissolves. Secure a candy thermometer to the pan and bring to a boil over medium heat.

  5. Do not stir past this point

  6. Meanwhile place the parchment paper on a baking sheet and grease with a little bit of vegetable oil

  7. After 15 minutes the caramel will be done. The temperature must reach 3000 degrees (hard crack). If you don't have a candy thermometer, drizzle some of it from a fork-if it hardens as it falls or forming strands, it's done.

  8. Turn the heat off and dip the apples, one by one,in the caramel. Tilt Pan and move apple till it's coated

  9. Let excess caramel fall off, hold the apples upside down for several seconds to avoid excess caramel on the bottom Be careful caramel will be hot.

  10. Place apples on prepared paper to coll.

  11. If coating is too thin, dip apples once more and let cool again.

  12. Start with a dark blue and then add some black food coloring to the caramel.



Witches Brew

  1. 1 frozen banana

  2. 1/2 acai packet or more blueberries

  3. 3/4 cup wild berries

  4. 2 tbsp fresh orange juice +pinch of orange zest

  5. 1 cup non-dairy milk, vanilla flavored

  6. non-dairy whip of choice

  7. 2 tsp chia seeds+3 tbsp warm water

Topping

  1. non-dairy whip of choice

  2. matcha

Instructions


  1. Combine the chia seeds and warm water. Whisk briskly, set aside to thicken a few minutes.

  2. Add the non-dairy milk, orange juice, zest, berries and acai to a blender. Blend until smooth.

  3. Paste the chai seeds along the inside of your serving glass.

  4. Then pour the smoothie in the glass. Top with your non-dairy whip. Sprinkle the matcha over top.



Bat Brew Halloween Punch for Kids


Ingredients

  1. 2 (12 oz.) frozen purple grape juice containers

  2. 9 cups water-or fill the empty grape juice container 6 times with water

  3. 1 (2 liter) bottle of ginger ale soda

  4. 11 quart or more of lime sherbert

Instructions


  1. In a large bowl, pour the grape juice, ginger ale and water

  2. Add scoops of sherbert onto the top of the drink
