My Kids are older now but when they were little, all they wanted for Halloween was candy and treats (they still want that). So now I decided to help other moms that are on a tight budget and have growing children. I hope you and your children enjoy. Please let me know how they come out and pass them on to others. I will be doing more Halloween DIY on a budget in coming blogs.

Edible Glow in the Dark Slime
Ingredients
1 3/4 cups tonic water
1/3 cup potato starch
2 Tbsp. lime flavored gelatin (such as Jello)
Combine all ingredients in a pan over medium heat, stir consistently, until thick and goopey. Around 2-3 minutes, let cool. Once it is cooled it is ready to go. Best if used right away. Wet your hands to prevent sticking. You can even cover the slime with half an inch of water. Serve on food or pou some in a glass. Use a black light bulb to make glow in the dark.

Easiest Mud Slime
1 13oz. jar nutella
1/4 cup powdered sugar
Put nutellla and sugar in a bowl. Mix with spoon ar your hands till combined. As you plaw with the slime, you may need to sprinkle in some more powdered sugar. To extend it.

Edible Zombie Slime
Ingredients
3 oz. box of sugar free jello, the sugar free kind won't stain your hands as much.
1 cup cornstarch
1/2 cup warm water
a bag of candy in the shape of bones
a cookie sheet
In a mixing bowl, combine cornstarch and contents of jello packet. Mix well using a spoon or craft stick.
Slowly mix water into the mixture (stirring the entire time). Mixture may become tough, resist adding water though, as the consistency will be like ooblek and less like slime. Continure to stir until entire 1/2 cup of water is mixed in. If you need to add water add asmall drop or two ata time, the consistency will change quickly.
mix in the bag of candy and enjoy. the kids will love it.

Edible Gummy Bear Slime
1 cup gummy bears only green
2 Tbsp icing sugar
2 Tbsp cornstarch
1 tsp coconut oil
Heat gummy bears in microwave for 10-15 seconds, stir, and reheat as necessary to achieve liquid.
Stir in icing and cornstarch in equal amounts until the slime forms an even dough. You may need to knead the dough to mix it well.
The more sugar/starch you add, the less sticky (and less stretchy) the slime will be. Add a bag of coconut oil to make it stretchier.
